In general, I am a rubbish Christian. No, this isn’t some cry for sympathy or an expression of fake humility; this is the plain and simple truth of the matter.
As a Christian, I need a lot of work done on me. I don’t read the word enough, I don’t study enough, I don’t witness enough, and I don’t pray enough. But there is one thing that I am solid on, and that’s believing that God has preserved His word for us in the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible.
Actually, there are two things – one is the above, and one is my absolute assurance of eternal salvation because of my trust in what God has written about what the Lord Jesus Christ did for me on the cross. Which is sort of one rather than two, as it’s to do with believing what’s written in His preserved Book. Hopefully you get what I mean, so I shall continue.
I may fail miserably and in so many ways each day in my Christian life, but no one can ever say that I am rubbish at believing and accepting the truth of God’s word. Whatever it says in The Perfect Book, goes. Whatever I think, say, do, act, show, if it goes against what’s written in God’s true word, then the word is right, and I am wrong, “e basta!” (as my Italian relatives would say).
One thing I really and truly cannot stomach is when a professing Christian says to me how much they love Jesus, but then continue to try and convince themselves and others that He hasn’t preserved His word for us today, or that there are errors in His Book, or even that His Book is being supernaturally changed somehow by some mad scientists over in Switzerland! The hypocrisy is sickening to my very core. But unfortunately, this is the majority of Christiandom in today’s world.
What do YOU believe?
